Wow. I didn't know these existed until I came onto this website and curiously clicked on the link for 'pucks'. I work with Citadel paints currently, and one concern I have had is knocking over a paint pot onto my table. I work on our kitchen table as my hobby area, so not only would that be a bad thing for the table, but we all know how much paint can run you these days. No one wants to use it up smearing the puddle you made across your work surface.
One thing could have gone wrong with this product and that is sizing. However, the Citadel pot fits in with about, maybe, a millimeter or less of gao around it. That is rather important since too much and the pot will slop around in there should you bump it, and if it were less of a gap you would struggle getting the pot into and out of the puck.
I am sure other paint companies bottles can fit into one of these with ease. Seems like they are made with at least a "One size fits most" concept in mind. I like that you can choose from an assortment of styles to match your personal aesthetic. I pick the stone because I like the idea of dressing this out with a small amount of paint and dry brushing to personalize it some.
Another feature you could use this for is, as it kind of states, for scatter terrain. I could see painting one of these up to be used as, say, a portal into the underdark or perhaps some other game trap etc. Or maybe you just need a cool pile of stone, a tree base, etc. With the low cost you could get more than one style and not break the bank which is always a welcomed bonus.
Overall I am very happy I bought one of these. I feel much better leaving a paint pot open having it settled into a nice stable base such as this table puck. I will be recommending these to anyone that paints (especially my one friend who I already watch spill his paint all over!)..
